VT Sandown Wagon
Hi all, can anyone shed some light on the air bag light that keeps coming on VT Wagon. Do i need to go to Holden to have this fixed. I have had it reset a couple of times by local mechanic, one time lasted a day or two the next time approx a month. The code the mechanic gave me at the time i think was 'low voltage impedence', as said he cleared it. I need to get it sorted properly now as I need to get a Warrent Of Fitness.
I have heard all sorts of things, the clock spring seems to be common.
I thought the fault code system would bring it up but the fault reading says car is normal? Thanks.

You really need the code number to help pinpoint the problem. The clock spring is the most common fault. You don't need to go to Holden, any decent auto electrician or mechanic could do it.

No, nearly all any scan tool can do this. Pretty much all auto-sparkies will have one.

Hi Mark,
It is a code 31
I have the same problem in a VT that I am doing up. I have a scan tool. I am leaning towards mine being a clock spring. Just make sure that the seat beat switch is not loose, as sometimes people poke things like books down between the console and seat.
Steve.

I'm pretty sure code 31 is clock spring related.
