Air con re charge

Hi all
i recharged the ac last night and when i disconnected the bottle ,the gas was escaping from the low port connection is this normal or does it mean the port has a leak , ac not working that good but with the top up the compressor clutch came to live
any ideas ?

How'd you go did you lose all the gas and do you mean the compressor clutch started working again.

the ports have a schrader valve you can replace them the ones holden are the same as in your tyres valves

Exactly the same as used in the tyres? Are the rubber o rings or washers the right stuff for AirCon?

yep some are clear or red or black all the same thing

they do come in different sizes i have a kit full of the them if you want i'll post a pic

For the price of the correct types dont used standard tyre valves.. had a few come back after a week or months with seeping valves, including my own VX and VS. you dont see the AC guys use tyre valves for a reason. MM recharging without locating the cause of the leak 1st. Hope you dont have a refrigeration gas handling licence.
