air intake problem

Hi everyone!

My holden commodore vs v6 1996 broke down on the road yesterday.It has backfired a few times in the last weeks and after calling my mechanic he said its not getting enough air.It ran but when I pushed the pedal it stalled.After checking I saw the plastic that is connected to a screw at the air intake of the motor is broken and we got it to start by screwing the regulating screw right in,now it works on petrol but not lpg.
I think this should be a fairly easy repair,I`m a toolmaker,not a mechanic but if someone point me towards the right direction i should hopefully be able to fix this myself

was it on gas when it back fired
i could have damaged the airflow meter

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere.

yes it was on gas when it backfired.It has done it about 10 times over the last year.

check the plastic hose to the throttle for splits they tend to explode
