Hey,

I'm currently running coilovers all 'round on my VE SS-V and have been contemplating getting airbag suspension. Upon doing some research, I have found them to be quite pricey to do the whole lot (looking at about $6k drive-in, drive-out).

Now my question is, is it possible to get the front struts airbagged and leave the rears on the coilovers (seeing as most people bag the rears but have spring/struts up front)? And if so, will the handling be absoloutly terrible? Bear in mind, the car is a daily and don't plan on tracking it at all.

The airbags at the front will be used primarily to clear savage speedhumps and driveways.

Cheers.

I don't think anyone has actually done it the opposite way..

Remember when you drop the back the front end obviously goes up slightly, but this being said if you lift the front to clear things, if the rear is lowered you'll scrape everything underneath..

It's probably better to go a full setup but it's not cheap as you know..

But thinking about it, bags bounce and travel a bit, I PERSONALLY would think that if it's solidish at the rear with softer suspension at the front it wouldn't handle very well.

I wouldn't quite know only driven a car with rear bags, and if you don't put the right pressure in the fkn thing bounces for ages... Was the worst ride but that was in a tray back with no weight in it.

Thanks for the reply mate. I realise it's a bit of an odd-ball question as it's opposite to what most people do.

My main concern in scraping has been the exhaust right after the cats, which is lowest point on my car (roughly where the front doors meet the fenders) and was hoping by having the front lifted to get the front half of the car over the "obstacle", and then dropping it slowly back down to it levels out so the rear can get over without damage.

I assume the handling will be slightly worse off but hoping it won't become dangerous though.

i would think your handling would be adversely affected if you only did the fronts, if your going to do it i would of thought you would be better off going the whole way and doing front and rear.

HAHA. Do you have a VE with coil overs in the rear and bags in the front? Don't see how a fully bagged VX is relevant.

I dont think anyone does, but I have more of an insight then people just assuming how it will handle.
