hi, never ever use a easy out .!!!
most time they snap in then , never work ,its a major hassel to get the easy out , out.

drill it out , then helicoil it.

why dont u just cut a slit in it and use a flat head screwdriver???

I think your best bet will be to drill a small pilot hole down the bolt head then go up to a drill size bigger than the thread size...drill it till you shear the head off...

then you'll have got the cover off...hopefully you'll have some thread protruding that you can grip with multigrips or slot with a file or hacksaw blade so you can use a flat screwdriver on it.

Failing that...you'll need to buy an ezy-out bit.
