Gday guys, first time post, long time reader.

I’ve had easily the worst experience with Alan Mance but that’s a yarn for another day.

As title says above I had work done on my car and I got it back 17/2/22 and I checked the engine oil dipstick to find its at least 15mm above max fill dot I’ll post a pic, the oil line ends at the tip of my nail.

Is it safe to drive? Or should I be taking it back to Alan Mance (Holden/Kia now days) and get them to drain it and fill it to correct level?

cheers in advance

Personally, I'd drain a small amount myself to save the hassle and send them a pic letting them know your concerns.

Ah well this would be really annoying for context I just spent $2500 and hoped for decent quality work being a Holden dealership. I’m afraid that if I touch it Holden won’t honour the warranty if something were to go wrong.

but alas I may just do as you say and drain some oil tomorrow. I would cry if something were to happen to this engine

I'm tipping you could still drive it -unless you're red-lining an engine a bit of overfill isn't an issue. If you want them to fix it, I wouldn't hesitate.

Easy, I don’t redline this thing, I would say hardest it hits is 3500 to 4000rpm. I’ll ring em up Monday and see what they say. I can avoid driving the car for the week end.

If it was a V8 I'd say leave it as they tend to burn about a litre every 10k.
Maybe that’s just a you problem. Mine only drops from full to the about the halfway mark between my 10,000km service intervals. I just did a top off last weekend about 7000kms into the service. Took maybe 200mls tops.
