Hi all, unfortunately the old VX now has the airbag light on with the constant beeping each time it starts up. I do want to get the gear from Envyous Customs but as the car is likely to be sold very soon, figured that buying the equipment for a once-off purpose is probably not the best way to go about reading, repairing and clearing the airbag fault. Are there any recommendations for good mechanics / individuals around the Sydney area that carries the equipment that I can borrow or they can do for me without charging an arm and a leg? As it’s a V6 Series II VX, only the ALDL OBD1 scanner will work.

Cheers!

Most decent auto electricians should have a compatible scan tool these days. I doubt you will get anyone to lend it to you.
I lent a gear puller to someone on this forum once, never saw it again.

I was actually willing to drive over to borrow, pay, and use on the spot! - all good though thanks. The two mechanics I normally deal with both don’t have the compatible scan tool (only OBDII) and I don’t really want to take it to a Holden stealership to do this.

We had the airbag light on and yep with the annoying alarm.
Ended up replacing the clockspring and the light went out.

Did you need to reset that airbag light though after the clock spring replacement?
