ALDL on the VN/VP is so slow, that the data that you see is basically useless.
The speed is 160bps.. this means it takes about 3+ seconds to get a single update from the car. Basically by the time you get the data, its useless.
The ALDL also runs on 12v instead of 5v, thus requires a different hardware design to work. I wouldn't recommend even bothering on the older cars.
