if you dump $30k into any engine it can do 300kW

    but would you want to?

    there's a guy on another forum who dumped $130k on a VT wagon... sure it's a a 400kW turbo LS1

rajab engineering specialised in 32psi VL Turbos that do 400kW...

all three are examples of insanity

I don't think you could dump $30K into a Prius engine and hit 300kW.....

Nah, it'd either burn or bend a valve.

Still off topic. For those who seem to have trouble grasping the english language, the question was " has anyone done it ". As for the dyno sheets, I was just a spectator, not my workshop & not my car. I was simply relaying what i saw as an example of what the alloytec is capable of. As for it costing more than it's worth, that doesn't concern me, if it did I wouldn't have a 8/71 blown 578ci '34 ford tudor, that cost me 8years and over $150k to build. my current project is a VZ adventurer which is bagged & slammed on 22's and now in my shed recieving a whipple twin screw supercharged 7 litre! And soop, i wasn't asking if it's possible(anythings possible with an angle grinder, mig welder and the know how) , I was asking if anyones done it!

    My appologies.
But take into account the 5 trillion school kids who get on here during the Holidays asking the same rediculous stuff and you can see why it gets frustrating (Yes it is rediculous, thats probably why you're interested).

As far as I'm aware no one as done it. Its not really worth while though is it. Its not really anything special.

Falcon 6cyl would be far better IMO. Would put the shits up some fanboys too!

i haven't read all the crap in this thread but an alloytec would be a direct replacement with the ECU and BCM The mounts would be the same

like i said, cost dosen't concern me. just purchased a 2010 plated VE sv6 Sportwagon from the auctions which is a statutory write off(had a tree where the passenger side rear seat passenger should be) this morning. Should have pretty much everything i need for the conversion, until I go chasing more power at least.

You have big budget cars there, big engines, big HP, and you want to put a high revving, **** sounding smaller engine into a VT? Just for the sake of doing it? I think you have too much time and money on your hands or you are not quite running on all cylinders yourself.....

i'll do it just to prove a point if nessecary. but just because it's smaller capacity, doesn't mean it's less power. the current alloytec's also deliver fuel economy that a ecotec owner could only dream of. I may have opened a can of worms with the last statement, but there you go, it's out there now.

If you do end up doing it. I'd be mighty interested. Just something different.

And I like the Just Because attitude. Why not!
Good luck on your adventure if you put that SV6 donk into a VT.

Yes an alloytec will fit into a VT commodore but you have to charge kframe.fuel lines .interior and all wiring
I know this because my vt commodore has a vz motor in it

As for fuel economy thats a bunch of bullkaka lol got an alloytec and a ecotec. Both drove over 360 kms on the daily to and from work. Alloytec would guzzle more going 120 then what the ecotec did 140. Ecotec had way more grunt n trust me driving country roads here in NZ n ****. Alloyec was 280k on the odometer n was a noisy alloytec like all. the ecotec was 540k n still purrrd like new lol
