I'm looking into buying a vp wagon and its got 310000 km. I as thinking of putting a Ecotech in but I also wondered about putting a Alloytech in. Would they fit what else would I need to put it in? Would it be easier to put a Ecotech in. And would a manual gearbox off a Ecotech fit in a vp?

I thought it might be. I might just stick to the Ecotech conversion. Cheers

If you're doing an Ecotec Conversion, you might as well go for the L67 for more chop. Alloytec's are just rubbish and expensive. Engineering and fitting it would be a bitch as well.

VR 5speed With ecotec conversion
Do the ecotec or l67 they are MUCH easyer then the alloytec. the alloytec may be newer but eh.. Im putting a ecotec into my vr at the moment (would of gone l67 if i wasnt on p plates) and its been a pretty straight forward swap just a couple little hiccups but when doing stuff like this something always goes wrong.. Check it out idk whether you would be interested but might help a little. :)

Go the SIDI 3.6 out of a SV6 it'll cost a bit but why not if you've got the cash, you always hear the V6 crowd on here say do a V6 conversion your bla bla bla because they want to be different so were are they now!!! LOL
Do a SIDI 3.6 as its the biggest and most powerful good luck and I look forward to the thread.
