Might as well as some info here for future reference.

VS fuel reg is rated at 3 bar to match the VS black injectors.
VT fuel reg is rated at 3.5 bar to match the VT green injectors

Injector s
VS V6
0 280 150 973 (EV1)
20.21 LB/HR 207 CC/MIN 152.8 G/MIN 12 Ohm 3.0bar OP

VT, VX, VY V6
0 280 155 777 (EV6)
21.44 LB/HR 219.85 CC/MIN 162 G/MIN 12 Ohm 3.5bar OP

So if your going VT reg/rail get the green injectors to match the pressure.

ecu has to know the injectors used and at what pressure, cant just upgrade to a higher pressure and change injectors and have it work as the ecu still thinks its using smaller injectors at the lower pressure, best to just get the right pressure reg

Are you sure about that? I have an old regulator from VS Ecomoo, it says 350 kPa (part number 280 160 552)
The older V6 and V8 regulator was only 3.0 bar

VS Commodore 'S' pack.
To Ephect, I just had a look in my old 2000 VS ute, and it is 3.5 bar. Pretty sure it is still the original. See photo.

The ECU in conjunction with the O2 sensors adjust duration of the injector. The VT only flow a little more which is within its limits (from memory). Yes a tune will provide benefits with the change but the ECU can cope fine, I've been running a VT engine for 10+ years.

Yes VS is 3 bar, at least the injectors are, I'm sure the reg is aswell. Regarding 2000 VS, I'm not sure as this was in the VT manufacturing era.

VS S Ute Series III
I don't have much to add except that I had the same trouble back in 2018 trying to source a fuel pressure regulator for my 2000 series 3 Ute.

Every reseller had no stock and the manufacturers were telling me it's a discontinued part. I ended up grabbing a second hand unit off of eBay.

I was told the only options available if wanting new parts are to either upgrade to VT fuel reg/rail/injectors or to bypass the existing reg and install a universal fuel reg (set to 40psi if I recall correctly?)

Was the above discussed on here back then? I remember a reasonably long thread and what you said, was the outcome, they can not be bought new. It's weird because VR and earlier can be still be bought and they are not outrageously expensive either.
