I have noticed on the SS when i start it, and it does it pretty much every time, the alternator whistles rather loud...... it goes for about 10 second and then gradually dies off. Is that a common thing? or is my battery about to crap itself?

I guess it normal, my car dies it too

you can even notice the lights become brighter after ~5 seconds

start your car with the interior lights on, and you'll know what I'm talking about :)

Yeah my SS does this too when you start her cold. I kinda like it though, sounds like a supercharger for a bit :yeah:

It's just your alternator working hard to replace the charge sapped by the starter motor, and the charge the battery lost since you last stopped the car. :)

makes sense :) I just thought it was odd because the other VE didn't do it... but then i guess it takes more to spin over 8 cylinders than it does to spin 6
