No, it's not big enough. It's barely enough to run one properly. You need 700wrms@2ohms or thereabouts. That amp is 500wrms@2ohms.

Enclosure side has a lot of variables. Download the spec sheet on the subs and it will have a few options for you.

It says in a eBay as that it is 1000rms at 2ohm, if that's true then it's a decent amp right?

Don't know what eBay says but the pioneer website states that its 350@4, 500@2 and 800@1

Would go for an alpine pdx 4 channel amp instead of the pioneer. Just my 2c.

Why would he want a 4 ch amp to drive 2 subs?

because they're single 4ohm subs, and it kinda makes sense.... 2 channels bridged to each sub, 2ohm per channel, get the most from the amp, and also means if in future he wants to upgrade the subs and amp, the 4 channel amp can then be used to run the full range speakers ;)

I hear what your saying but I know ehat fun bucket means. A more cost effective method, more powerful method and greater flexibility is the use of a mono block designed to put out the power required at the impedance it will be presented with.

If in the future he wants to upgrade his speakers he can also just buy a 4 ch amp and in the meantime buy an amp that's cheaper and more suited to the task. Spending 500 bucks on an amp to run a set of entry level 10's he probably picked up 2nd hand somewhere just seems bonkers to me.
