ive been having problems with my sub and amp in my boot lately. the problem used to be that the bass would be working fine, then cut out for no reason. now the amp isnt turning on at all.

the amp is getting power, there is an audio signal being sent from the headunit, but i cant work out why my sub wont work.

can anyone give me any advice, or tell me a good place to connect the amps ground to?

checked earths and wiring? protection light ever come on? earth can be connected to anywhere on the chassis as long as its metal, just make sure you have properly removed paint.etc

also if all wiring seems fine you could check the wires and connectors in the encloser itself, the vibrations may have loosened them.

check the ground wire.

i got a vn aand installed the amp myself. for the ground wire i had to move it yeati so it was more secure and where i could fit a betta bolt because it kept cuttin out. I moved it to behind the back seat. once you take the back seat off you will see a couple of holes on the metal where the seat is clipped onto so you can just choose one. the holes are already there so you dont need to drill and you can tigthen the bolt from the boot. also the ground wire is hidden behind the seat this way

oh and by the way my amp is bolted onto the middle seat that folds down

yet another VS
yeah check the ground cable. I installed a stereo in a mates car a few weeks ago and the same thing happened with the amp. Just had to scratch the paint back a bit under the screw that held the ground cable down and it fixed the problem

ok ive worked it out. it was the fuse holder for the power cable. the spring inside it wasnt sitting right, so the fuse wasnt being pushed against the 12 volts from the battery so it turns out the amp was getting no power at all
