I was looking at a few amps at jb hifi today and i noticed that there were a couple that had built in turn on sensing but no gain control knob . For example JVC 4 Channel amp KSD-R3004 . Whats the story with these amps ?

The proper way is to adjust it with no equaliser settings on the headunit till it starts clipping from memory. Me I just turn it up till it's loud enough.

the voltage on the input sensitivity, is ment to be matched to the headunits rca output voltage. This is the theory, but most if not everyone uses the method wraith mentioned
