thats pretty fast for first gear dude. you musn't have had any launch potential at all... even 115 Km/h thats too quick. best car ive been in would do 60km/h in first. and took a bit to get there.

but if you did have it that is sweet. mid range in first would have had heaps to slide it out and the like... would have been fun

Well i know for a fact that, with a V8, with the 2.60 diff and M20/M21 gearbox, you can get 100 km/h out of first. I reckon a EFI202 could get *near* that with the same gearbox.
Anyway dads VB has done over 300000Ks and only had its engine rebuild a few years ago, still had the copper glaze on the bearings. The motor wasn't stuffed at all

I have a 5L with an M21 & a 2.78:1 diff which used to pull 110km/hr out of first gear.
Doing 115mph out of first, it must have had pretty tall gearing considering that would be close to 185km/hr. Or someone has MPH & KMH mixed up.

forget the 500 holley, its a **** carb, better off with a 450/465 4barrel holley...
blue crank, starfire rods, ACL flat tops, ARP main studs, easily good for 6000rpm all day every day.

If interested my beast with a tricked up powerglide, high stall converter, tripple 2" SU's would do 115 mph in first gear NP.

Same engine with a Celica 5 speed (near unbreakable) and the 500 Holley was more than just good fun.

I think these two comments speak volumns about this persons credability

Coming to your inbox, I guess that answers the doubt of their existence.
