Sounds like the auto inhibitor switch. If you put it in Neutral when it happens does it start okay?

Full lock will always put strain on the engine although it shouldn't stall. Might be time for plugs, leads and a full TB (including IAC) clean and spit polish.

I have never tried to start it in neutral when it happens I've recently changed plugs and leads it won't stall for 3 days but then it happens again. Is it a pain to replace the inhibitor switch and where abouts is it located( noob question)

in regards to the full lock, don't hold the steering wheel on full lock, simple... it's putting a lot of strain on the pump and hydraulic system and the fluid can't go anywhere so it goes through the pressure bypass in the pump.... continue doing it and it'll likely blow a seal out of the rack, unlike armstrong steering you should never hold a power assisted steering vehicle on full lock, back off the wheel until it stops making the noise of the pump working it's guts out.
