We have a VX Series II 3.8 converted to LPG.
Recently the radiator sprung a leak and cooked the engine. We had to have the heads reconditioned.
After the heads were done, the car started back-firing. The mechanic found a small hose on the LPG system was not connected. When that hose was reconnected, the car stopped backfiring.
All went well for about 2 weeks, but now the car is stalling when we ease off the accelerator.
This happens when driving fast (freeway) or slow (suburban streets). The car idles ok in park or gear when stopped.
This started suddenly on Friday morning, afetr a drive of 70 KMs with no problems.
If I keep the accelerator pressed while braking (two foot driving), the car does not stall. Sometimes, even the tacho is showing 0 revs, if I accelerate again it picks up and does not stall.
I have replaced the plugs and O2 sensor but it still stalls.
What else should I check?
