anti-abuse is just what people call it, the V6 pcm is programmed so the engine can't be thrashed past a safe point. It simply incorporates rev limiter to 5500rpm, rev limiter with brake pressed to 2500rpm (stops burnouts) and limits the fuel ratios. It is not in all VT V6 auto pcm's (not sure which ones have it) but is in all VX V6 auto pcm's. It is easy to have the settings changed by a ecu specialist or you can change back to an earlier model delco pcm (but be prepared to sit down for hours chaging the wiring looms). It is also the reason why the auto trans will shift automatically into second gear even if you have the selector locked into first (solved that one with a stage 2 shift kit).
If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

reidy is sort of correct, the abuse mode is in all VT calibrations.
the rev limiter is the same if the brake is pressed or not, you may be thinking of a late model with Electronic Throttle Control.
the traction control has several functions when it operates retarding timing to reduce torque & then cutting injectors if wheelspin continues.
the forced upshift is in all with electronic transmission control.
in VTV8 there is actually a calibration named "Take The Fun Out" in part of the trac control segment, its about torque reduction.
rev limiters, transmission control & torque reduction are all classed as Abuse Mode Calibrations.

Yes it exists in all calibrations although not fully functional in all.

Ahhhh thanks bob...

so it's basically tied in with traction ctrl... if you don't have traction ctrl you don't have this "take the fun out".

I was mearly curious, thanks bob
