If you have an 87 onwards VL with electric door locks and power mirrors you'll find that the dash / body loom fitted (not cluster) will have the connector for the Factory fitted Cobra Alarm system tucked in behind the AC system. This would then be just a matter of getting one of those modules along with it's original remote and instantly you'd have keyless entry, Immobiliser and alarm without any surgery to any part of the wiring loom.
I did this to my 87 Berlina when I owned it back in 1989 and no one suspected this car to have any security because that system was only ever fitted to the Calais model and never offered as a optional extra to any other luxury standard below that.
