Anyone know of any ecotec experts in adelaide who could tell ya what a noise particular noise is, and knows the ecotec inside out

got a revolving type noise down inside the block around start motor, tough to hear but i can hear it, my mechanic is just like, its an old engine what do u expect haha

car is running fine but i sense this could be the eventual end of the engine in the long run

What Engine we talking about ?
V6 L36, V6 L67, V8 ?
All the GM experts have now gone further afield I would say.
If your really concerned,
and the mechanic gives you a lame excuse that's it an old Engine
[because he doesn't really care, and doesn't know anyway, and/or not interested]
It could be a number of things being a "particular noise",
Could even be Starter Motor Heat Shield is either lose or broken.

Maybe pull it out and re-condition it, then the original engine will go back in.
On the other hand, buy a good s/hand one and reconditioned that one, then put it in.

You could try Ron Cleland in Lonsdale, he is my brother in law.

If it ain't broke don't fix it, ; if it is broken fix it before its really broken & if you can't get an educated answer do a locality search in your area for a new mechanic, & get a 2nd opinion, & read up on your model service manual, for trouble shooting, ecotec's are pretty bullet proof if you maintain them & they all have noises, some are normal operating ones' & some are warning signs, if it worries You, definitely get a second opinion, good luck.

hi guys sorry i forgot i posted this haha

im just near the city so just curious an ecotec v6 expert would be able to say what the noise is

its quiet and after long drives can hear it revolving around on idle its down around the starter motor but i think its in the sump or piston block on the passenger side, maybe its the torque converter

You say down near the starter motor,
Was just thinking,
Torque Converter Bolts could be lose ?
Starter motor could be lose,
Flywheel shield could be lose.
