    Like a VY or VZ LS1 5.7 vs. an L76 or L98 6.0.

Searched on youtube but couldn't find any.

Having owned a SS with a LS1 and a L98 I can tell you hands down the L98 will win. The LS1 in stock form has no balls to at least 3000rpm and up where the l98 had torque from down low. You also have to consider the chassis. The VE despite being heavier put the power to the road so much better the VZ I had. Having driven other ls cars, apart from the ls3, my pick is the l98. It feels much better to drive then the ls2 and the l76

I agree, compared to my old LS1 the L98 is 30ish kw down on power, and is in a heavier car, but doesn't seem much different, which I put down to the increased bottom end torque and different auto gearing (even though the diff ratio is higher). More potential from the L98 too, with the same mods my LS1 had it should make 30-40rwkw more.

Ok guys! Bringing this back up.
So in a race between a stock VZ 5.7 and a VE 6.0...the VZ would loose...miserably. Ok that's understood.

What about a race between a VZ 6.0 vs. a VE 6.0. Who would win? And if its the VE, which logic dictates, why?

Aside from the transmission and the axle ratio and the computer...why would the VE win?? They both got the same engine, and the VZ is lighter!

You already said it, the transmission and mapping.

Its how it puts it down on the ground

So you are saying if the VZ 6.0 was tuned and had, hypothetically, the exact same transmission as the VE 6.0, it would either be EXACTLY as fast as the VE or, due to it being lighter, faster than the VE...correct?

Doesn't matter, they are built differently with different transmissions etc etc

Stock for stock, VE SS would win.

I was hoping you would be able to break it down. Obviously it is built differently, but what part/s of the build is it exactly that make it faster.
Nonetheless, still appreciate your input mate!

It's also the chassis and it's inherent grip. My vz ss was was no where as planted or solid on the road as the ve. Driving in the wet showed this more. The ve had more grip and could put the power to the road more effectively

They both have the same manual trans. Ve has 10 more kw and 20 more nm. I've had a few red lighters with some ve's. Won a few and lost a few. Who's to know which one is stock though? Lol

The VE also has a more advanced traction control system meaning you can push it harder and the computer will compensate for your minor stuff ups.

VZ 6.0 isnt an LS2 unless its a HSV. VZ LS2 will eat all of the others you talk of.
Some of the differences you ask about are cylinder head design better on the VE, compression ratio a bit higher, cam lift, inlet manifold flows better etc.
Its an improved engine to the LS1 in most areas.
