Anyone ever had the b*%ls to cut a hole for an original stato sunroof!!!!

I've been offered a complete original sunroof and roof lining from a 1994 VR Statesman for my 1999 VS Statesman but i want to know if anyone has cut a hole in the roof:my: or did you get someone to do it , if so what kind of shop did you get to do it or how did you do it:confused:?
Any info would be appreciated:bow: before i hand over my hard earned $$$$,

well i know a guy that ownes a VN berlina, the guy b4 him got one installed.$3500 later he actually found the receipt today from the previous owner..


i know it doesnt really help but...yeah...oh

and IMO: $3500 is way too much

$3500 ouch

Was that just the install or for the complete sunroof and install because i can get the sunroof/roof lining for $300 just need it installed?

oh true, im pretty sure it was for the actual sunroof and install. i'll give him a call tomoz and see what the receipt say's

there was a thread similar to this last year, end result was dont do it yourself, no matter what.

Yer I'm not to keen on doing it myself anyway, i can cut a piece of wood with a straight line:cry: let alone a car that I've dump a heap of cash into!!!!

dont attempt it yourself. ive seen someone do it and all it resulted in was a ****ed/written off car with a creased roof, a sunroof that leaked....and lots of laughter. its dangerous and just pay the $1-2000 to get a proper one installed.

i got a mate that him and his chppy mates did on a vs and turned out perfect looks factory and doesnt leak. I also sold one on ebay to a guy (was a new manual one with template) who put it in his ute and said he had no dramas and it was fine its possible to do it yourself but you would want to **** it up thats for sure
