The magpies that come to ours each day give no care to me using the grinder. They sat and watched with interest. They got their cashews and then watched some more. The dominant male was particularly interested. One came into the garage to let me know they were there. They are so kind to the kids. Most are gentle taking the treats. Thought it was cool they could sit next to me and watch me doing strange things to the funny shape made of stuff.

each state has had more than a year to have purpose built infectious disease isolation housing up and running by now...

They can't do it without approval from the Feds.

Exhibit A - Wellcamp

Exhibit B - Avalon

Feds can’t stop the states from building hospitals... and any infectious disease housing could be documented as a Hospital... QED...

But both Feds and States are all just pissing in the wind whistling Dixie...

All I could think of was, this needs to be burnt off or media blasted. Just as you all said.
Or just paint the affected areas and then etch primer or cold valve the rest.
Some slight pitting there. The hitch facia has come up well. Will paint that silver. The rest black. Then clear coat epoxy.
The issue with trying to paint over powdercoating is that the people who put it on in the first place very often include "slip agents" to give it that nice shiny surface and, although they do tend to rise to the surface during the bake-on process, some have probably permeated throughout the material and are likely to result in spots where paint will not stick. That's why completely removing the powdercoating by way of acidic stripping, media blasting, or burning is recommended. If you leave any of the original shiny powdercoating skin you will have problems. You can try wet sanding a flat area of powdercoating that you are sure you have taken the skin off of with fine sandpaper and can then try to see if no small darker spots are visible under a strong magnifying glass but, honestly, it's quicker and easier to just get the crap off completely.

Time for some boring as batshit updates for my records.
Have gone months without being able to do much, if anything. Perth hasn’t stopped raining, cold, constantly overcast like it’s the UK or NZ so can’t get anything painted or cleaned easily.Family duties have also taken priorities.

Yes, sun shining in this photo. It was short lived.

Still waiting to test circuits and get it powered up. Interior is together as much as possible and still the same.

The front seatbelts have challenged me. I had these cleaned and really snappy. The belt lock won’t engage when it’s reefed on. Remove the belt and it grabs fine. So new belts for the front are on the cards.

I did get the trailer plug cleaned. Wiring cleared of corrosion. Bought a new plug but the Narva one had a rear seal that didn’t fit over the wiring harness. So seeing how Narva bought Lumen, the plugs were almost the same.

So I pushed the old pins out of the old plug body pushed in the new ones. Cleaned the old plug. Looks new now.

Then reassembled with all the new bits. So a bit of old. A bit of new.

All plastics had been soaked for a few weeks in Aerospace 303. Wiring all cleaned back with it too.

Got some silicone paste into it to protect from corrosion and moisture. No. Current does not travel through it.

The tow bar is part treated. Painting will be impossible until some dry sunny weather returns. Who knows when?

I started cleaning up the power steering cooler. It’s fkd. Too much rust. That tube is super thin and this is not far off a pin hole. A new Derale cooler will go in.

I modified the VY cold air duct to fit the VZ. It had to clear the headlight loom and the coolant bottle. (That came out and got a solid clean too. New speed nuts and bolts.)

I have a second hole cut in the air box. Not figured out how I will connect them. Thinking just some flexible air ducting. Made a ducting connection part from some drainage parts & screwed it in.

Still of two minds to even use this thing. Wait and see. It was fun to do at least.

This fkn boot. So hard to find. Have two possible places to find it. Hardy Spicer have been really helpful. Got something on the way.
I think @figjam said they are the same as used on some Jeeps. So worth a go.
