This car has not been cared for but seems to have been well serviced, if that makes any sense.

Yep, just an A to B work car for the previous owner. Serviced it but probably never washed it

Again, love how @MACE do things. Cheers for the sticker. Great packaging. Above all, that radiator cap is the shizz. Not made from metal thinner than paper like the Repco cap I bought. It’s the little things they do so well. Nice and quick with delivery.

Like Alan Mance Holden, Village Motors have been excellent to deal with. Thanks folks. Would recommend to others for parts online.

The second best thing that arrived earlier than expected was this. (Street Machine for scale)

The bearing and bush press!!!!
It’s fricken heavy duty. Way better than I expected in the way of quality. 22kg!
Have I used it yet? No. I’m on domestic duties. It has to wait.

Did I get any painting done on the only two days we’ve had good weather since the 1800’s in Perth? No. Kids and domestic duties meant no painting got done, but as mentioned, I did get the High Pressure lines sorted and a bit of prep done on the wheels. The next two days we have possibly the strongest cold front of the year! SW WA going to get flogged. Still cold humid mornings. Mild days at best. Grrr.

Love how all the threaded rods have proper thrust bearings on each end.

Ok, so this MoFo shitty bushing lunched the bearing puller. Started to deform the steel cup and banana’d the hardened steel M14 threaded rod.
I marked the bush to see if it moved. It didn’t move.

I cut out the remaining alloy outer. Smashed it out actually.

Cold Chisel and a Mallet, also rage. Rage was good.

So tomorrow morning, I’m off to Total Tools to get an Air Chisel. I’ll introduce the neighbours to the air compressor. They’ll love it. (Sorry neighbours)

Bunnings seem to be dropping their Ryobi Airtool range. Sydney Tools only have a airchisel bloody miles away.
I’ll get a cheap one and disappoint all of you.

Then I’ll destroy this bloody thing.

Na, it’s clean underneath. The rusty bit is both red dust and rust from the inner parts of the bush.

I’m now in possession of an air chisel and I’m planning on fking destroying that remaining bush sleeve with it.

Just not happening today. Kids party.

I packed the bush removal kit away today. It was an M18 and M16 hardened steel threaded rod that got banana’d

I’d be sending it back for a refund.

After all, a bush removal kit where the threaded rod that bends like a banana and the cup implodes on first use can’t be considered “durable” while a kit that can’t actually remove a bush is not “fit for purpose” ;)
