cant wait to get my hands on a 210kw version, the 190kw 3.0 is comparable if not a lil better than the 3.6L port injected motor

no way, the motor itself ain't better, but possibly only with auto's, from all reports ive heard the 3.0l is a fail. Been shown to use more fuel then the 210kw version in most circumstances.

You forgot to mention that the forester is all wheel drive so consumption will be up, a lot safer too :banstick: & the resale value of that Commodore will be peanuts compared to that of the Forester.

Cheers Steve Sti Melbourne

I guess thats one of the reasons I keep buying a holden. I get mine cheap. Its hard to beat a carpice/statesman for $35,000 3 years old. If you look at other luxury vehicles and compare features etc, you'll pay double if not more.

when I bought the WK Caprice it had 50,000km, 5 years old for $25,000, one owner. Ok, its now worth maybe $19,000 (74,000km) but the original owner paid $77,000

Well owning a port injected manual VE, and driving around the 3.0l for work I much prefer the 3.6l PI, thats why I said auto might be better. The 3.0l revs way to much to get going, pretty slow of the line, and hunts gears alot, 290nm of torque moving around a 1800kg is just wrong, it hits peak torque at 2900, rather then the 2600rpm the PI motor has. The 210kw version on the other hand is bloody insane. I can understand why holden made the 3.0l, but would have made more sense putting the 6 speed auto into the 3.6l PI for the omega, its alright on fuel, but not that much better then the 3.6l however, sometimes worse.

I have a Sidi SV6 auto, and I am happy to say that GM have finally got a great gearbox/engine combination :)

Economy, well it's not so good for me - ~14.5 l/100km; my run to work is 15 kms in traffic :(
