as the title suggests anyone into it? for those that don't know muay thai is the real version of kickboxing (ie not the sissy version), using elbows, grapples and knees.
my main reason for posting this is, does anyone have any footage of the fight between Ian jacobs:bow: and gurkan oskan??? i have searched everywhere over the net and cannot find it anywhere:bang:
i used to be trained by Ian and have heard this is the best muay thai fight australia has ever seen.

cheers all.

mauy thai competition is similar, theres really no time for rest, ie like boxing when they hug, it's extremly fast paced , fights are usually over in the 2 or 3 round, the only real differance is there's no ground grappeling, the grappeling in muay thai is when you have your opponent around the neck and throw knees up into their ribs or if your lucky enough you can bring their head down to meet your knee:D but it's all standing, really works well on the street.

nice sounds like fun might have to look into it. Is it a sport or more of a fitness / defence thing?

both really, im mean its a sport...but your going to get fit and be able to defend yourself by training.
from bits ive seen its HECTIC stuff, not your average pussy kind of fighting.
ive never seen an elbow used so viciously before! lol.
