There are people out there called doctors I think they might know something about the human body and they also have access to medical equipment or they know other people that have medical equipment I think you should try finding a doctor and tell him your problem. (Some people are quite dumb).
Dr tested my blood pressure and said all good. Never really did find out the cause. It's happened again once or twice since I posted. I hate drs anyway and only go to one when I absolutely have too. I'm supposed to get a blood test. He kept writing out referrals and I never went. That was two years ago., meh.... My father was at the doc every week, not this little black duck. It would have to be pretty serious or to pick up my six monthly scripts that I see a doctor.

I came across this post yesterday and had a quick read. An old post no doubt.

With what you say, the Dr has given you blood tests to have done but you choose not to so you must have a death wish.
My chest pains were caused initially by my upper back being out of joint and the pain went from my back to my chest and visa versa.
However, 12 years ago I had lower back pain which I simply put down to exactly that, back pain, but as it turned out I spent 7 weeks in hospital on a drip of powerful antibiotics straight into the heart because I had a staph infection after bumping my arm, and the infection was eating my back away, not pleasant, very painful, bedridden, and they also thought the infection may have effected my heart, so after 2 major spinal surgeries to fuse L5 S1 then 2 years recouping, I was not too bad, but then the knees went so they were replaced, then after having 3 angeograms over 7 years (2006, 2007, 2011) with a dodgy quack in Brisbane, I asked for another angeogram here on the coast and lo and behold, at that visit with this Specialist simply listening to my heart, I was informed I had a dodgy heart valve so back to hospital for open heart valve replacement and pacemaker.

11 weeks ago I had the right hip replaced so I am working on getting back to speed after that op.

My point, unless you take notice of your body and what the Doctors tell you, we may not be reading about your exploits much longer.

Good luck.

I missed this thread.
I get similar. Went to the doctor then Cardiologist and so far my heart is great. What the head doctor at the hospital said is it's likely my esophagus, apparently when you eat and drink before bed when a little overweight it pushes acid up your esophagus and over time this burns it and causes inflamation. This inflamation he said is what causes it, it's not heart burn either but Nexium does help it's called GERD (Gastro esophageal reflux disease).

But you need to check your heart with a stress test and echocardiogram.

Medications can also cause heart burn/reflux problems, I have pain pills for various injuries but they cause me heart burn so I have more pills for that. The better option is to not take the pills that cause the heart burn.... then I just have to deal with the pain. Pain is only really an issue after a long days work, no work no pain!

I'm on Nexium and will be forever until I die. I have GERD and apparently there is no other option as it can't be cured just managed.
Dayvo yeah the test is the over 50s things. As for my health I feel pretty good. My worst thing is I carry about 12-15kg too much weight. Stupid medicine over the last 20 or so years have caused the weight gain. I have to watch what I eat and drink now. Have had to cut right back on fizzy and eat less. People look at my plate and tell me it's not enough food for a bloke. Even so I still gain about 1-2kg every year.
I have to get some major dental work done in the new year as left alone it can cause heart and other problems.
