this topic has been covered in great depth elsewhere, no its not as easy as tighten the bolts and nuts because its a poor deisgn to begin with.

My solution was to remove them, as I type there sitting here next to me.

The new problem being their more of a bash plate protection shield then a heat shield and Im worried about damaging the exhaust pipe now, so Im going to source some high temp exhaust wrap (off ebay about 80 bucks) to wrap around the exhaust first then re-bolt the shields back on

Thanks Torquative, can I ask how you remove them, I did a search to try to find other threads on this and can't find anything - I may well be not very good at it.

Just wondering if you could tell me how you access the bolts to remove the sheilds and where about's they are.

Thanks again

The usual reason they rattle is because over time they fill with
small stones etc.
10 metres of exhaust wrap (5 per side) will do the trick.
Make sure you replace old material.
Easy to remove, get under the car and have a look!

yeh basically climb under and have a look!

It runs roughly in line with the front wheels and heads towards the engine for almost a meter, you will see it.

From memory 10mm socket does the trick, might be as small as 8mm though.

Do a search for exhaust rattle or something like that . We covered this before .
BTW mine have never made another noise again after I removed the shields and wrapped them , then replaced the shields .
