I plan on doing a bit of camping this summer, got a few spots i like to go to around kangaroo valley and around the south coast, looks like it will be a good season for it too. But this just caught my eye on the net today, an article about "glamour camping", called "Glamping". Basically its camping but theres no roughing it and no missing out on lifes little luxuries. To me its just not camping, but would be good to try out i recon. Anywayz heres a link to a site that specialises in this glamping thing. Extravacamps | Luxury Camping Getaways and Corporate Events
We camp at a place with a barbecue, a shower and a toiler. Thats it. While not entirely roughing it like some do, its a good balance. Means if you feel a bit crook in the guts you dont have to dig up a really deep hole
Glamping looks like camping for fags Sorry it had to be said. As always I plan on going camping, what am I talking about, camping didnt stop for the winter. Lochsport National park is a good place for a group of mates, especially people who arnt exactly great campers, you've got toilets, shelter, and fire places and tables. Lake on one side and beach on the other BUT I prefer to go up bush with a few close mates/family. Will spend alot of time up near Dargo, on the way towards crooked river. Find a flat spot near the river, spend the time trout fishing, canoeing, swimming, 4wding, shooting, sinking **** by the fire and eating
Yes, yes and hell yes. nothing but swag, rifles, esky and me dog. Maybe a solar shower. And a clay pidgeon thrower, with lots, and lots, and lots of clays. Cant wait.
I love camping im actually goin this weekend. finally get to take my hilux out in the bush. all i bring when i go is a tent, bed rolls, sleeping bags, couple of dunny rolls, heaps of bbq gear, and a lighter oh and a couple of eskies full of beer :yeah:. have not done any camping for years so im really looking forward to this. depends where im camping aswell if im near the ocean i will bring a couple of fishing rods and my speargun aswell
Hint for beach vehicles: (and in fact I will be doing this to the commonwhore when I get my act together) before beach get a pressure pack filled with bulk WD40 (Lanolin is another great product- but I havent tried with it yet). spray liberally. Everywhere. I mean everywhere. Specially around joints and rubber seals (windscreen, back window) behind/ under guards. Wash and if you are so inclined polish as you usually would. WD40 is an excellent product for stopping oxygen getting to metal (rust is ferric oxide- iron combined with oxygen- stop the oxygen, stop the rust) and has excellent capillary action- ie it likes to creep into tight joints. I know people who do this once a year, I personally would do it more often if it is a constant beach goer. Dont forget to rinse well after the beach, and have fun!
i can't imagine asking mates to come glamour camping with me, i reckon they'd start avoiding me after that. mind you last time i went bushwalking i borrowed someone's top of the line snow tent and couldn't work out how to put it up in fading light. we slept under the stars that night.
