Im also looking for the right cam for my 5.7 LS1 6 speed manual.

Can anyone tell me a bit about the following cams

224/228 112LSA
224/230 114LSA
228/230 112 or 114LSA

Whats the difference between 112 vs 114LSA? Is one better suited for manual?

What Im aiming for once tuned is around the 280rwkw mark with twin 3" exhaust, high flow cats, 4into1 extractors, OTR.

It will be for street only, a daily driver, I want that nice lumpy cam idle aswell but dont want my fuel bill to blow out.

It will most likely be tuned by castle hill exhaust.

going for a cam with big lift will pay off but go to big and you will need pistons with valve relief the cam i run in my ls1 is .635 lift and .645

I think that is too much lift.
I dont want it that high, I want low-mid range power but still want the lumpy cam note and around 280rwkw..

If you wait a day or two I can get the part number off the cam in my friends VY LS1 manual, it has dart heads but makes 300 rwkw and makes good numbers on the track. It's also his daily driver

thats a proven cam mate. it will make 260rwkw+ depending on supporting mods etc, probably 270+ with a manual. If you can drive an 11 second pass is also doable (eaiser in an AUTO) if you can drive, and fuel economy shouldnt be too bad.
