are bonnet pins Gay??

Ive never seen bonnet pins on a street car in the flesh they look **** on just about all cars, does that mean if you did have them on a street car anybody could just open your bonnet from the front even while you had the car parked somewhere..?

I would say that most people wouldnt remove their bonnet latch and just have the pins for wank factor, making them even more gay.
Speaking of removing the latch how the **** do you, we spent ages trying to, we ended up just painting it lol.
