    VE Calais
    Hi,

I've just acquired an 07 Holden Calais VE Sedan (V6)-automatic transmission. Prior to that I had a VS Exec Sedan (V6)-automatic. So this a very, very different vehicle to what I am used to. Am not used to a vehicle that so computerised. Am also sad to admit that my vehicle mechanical knowledge fits on a postage stamp. Anyway just wondering if you, or anyone else, can advise me what's normal and what's not in terms of the tachometer RPM's in various driving conditions ie on the open road, driving uphill, driving downhill.

VX Calais electric seats into VX Berlina

    Hi Dr Bob
I have recently installed a set of VX Calais leathers into a VX Berlina. Drivers seat electrics work perfectly with full movement, but the passenger side does not move at all. I know the Berlina seats are not electric, so I am going to have to run the cables, however, is there a way I can move an electric seat manually (forward and back only) as I need to screw the 2 front bolts in to keep it anchored?
    Thanks
    Iain

if you want it manually try changing the seat base

you can fit it all in if you swap the k frame, electrical gear, front suspension etc, the only major problem you would probably run into is compliance side of things, ie fitting an older model engine into a slightly new car

the brake light indication is used as a brake fail light so to speak, as well as handbrake, check and see if the brake fluid level is at the max mark, the level float inside the resivour isnt stuck down low in the resivour,

if the level is down, check to see if there is a fluid leak somewhere, thats a start anyway

    ABS Fault in VZ equipe

When starting my car I get an ABS fault on the dash with seven chimes. The dealer said it could be one of about twenty sensors and doesn't seem interested and has only reset it but hasn't fixed the problem. Has anyone heard of this one before.

check the battery voltage when cranking, it will probably be a bit low causing the ABS error

if you get under the seat you should be able to see the motor, sepending on the exact model seat base (there are several) you can manually turn the driveshaft on some, if not just connect power & ground to the appropriate pins at the seat connector & move the seat

    VR Executive 3.8
This is more of a general question about the Central Locking Utility in my recently purchased VR Executive Commodore, Now when I press the button on the keys I can hear the click but it doesnt unlock the doors. I have tried both keys separately so I know its not a battery issue. Im just wondering what this is and how it can be fixed (perhaps without taking it to a car workshop and getting shafted?)

I hope that explained it, if you need to know more just ask, Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond to this.

    Hi Bob,

Trying to work out what the fuel pressure at idle should be for a VS - mine is 240 kPa.

Gregory's says it should be ~280
Hayne's says it should be 240-260 (in which case mine is ok)

    Which is correct?
