I need help on something and Im hoping you may be able to point me in the right direction.
I have a VN V8 commodore which just stopped on me on the way home. I was thinking the coil may have been the problem so I tested 6 others on the car nup not the problem . Im getting power to the coil but no spark coming out of it . Someone has suggested ignition module is there any way we can test if my ignition module is dicky as i dont really have the funds to get a newey and it not be the problem IYKWIM . Any help and suggestions are most appreciated .

Hi, I put a VY2 SS Cluster into my VY2 Acclaim, the fuel gauge is buggered though. When the tank is full the needle sits on 3/4 full, and it goes down to red really fast. when i have about half a tank it reads dead empty. Ive taken it to holden and they say its all configured properly, they put some software update on it but its still the same.

Does this sound like the cluster is stuffed, any ideas on possible fixes?

The needle might be missing its balancer, i had the same problem on my vx, i bought a new cluster and the tacho needle didn't work. After playing around with it i realised that it was missing it's balancer, went to the wreckers, took a needle out of another cluster (i had to wait for them to get a high km cluster, turned out they had one the day after i went the first time lol), took it home put the balancer in my needle and it worked straight away.

I'm not sure if the vy clusters are the same or similar (maybe wait for dr bob to confirm) but might be worth a shot.

Hi
I have a 95 VS and I have had a recent problem with the transmission. I got an engine warning light and code 81. The other fault was that the car appeared to take off in second gear. I changed the 2-3 shift solenoid and changed the filter and fluid.
The fault light has gone but I still don't have 1st or 4th gear. the shift change from 2 to 3 if sooth as is the downshift. If I manually select 1st. the car still takes off in 2nd. I have tested the resistance at the PCM and the resistances seem OK apart from the Fluid temp which should be about 3? but showed 48 Ohms. The tacho stopped working a couple of months ago if you have any thoughts on that as well.
Thanks for you help

i would be taking it to a professional for diagnosis, from your description the trans is buggered

Hi
I have just bought a VY SII S pac, man, and 3 days after getting it the clutch has started making a strange shuddering/ squeaking noise when i try and select gears. When i first put the clutch in it makes a slight shuddering noise, nothing major in comparison but when i go to lift off the clutch and press down on the accelerator there is a really loud squeaking noise. It doesnt matter if its 1'st or reverse. It only does this when I first start it up in the morning, and after a while it goes away. Have talked to a mechanic and he quoted me about $1700 for a new clutch, which is well out of my budget as i only just got the car, any suggestions? or anywhere i can get a new clutch kit (whole kit, supposedly they have a special clutch and flywheel setup) from would be great.
P.S it is pretty cold in the mornings would that have anything to do with it???

try taking it to a clutch specialist, but that quote sounds ok

Gday Dr Bob, 93 pages of help and still going...
If you would be kind enough to send some wisdom my way,
it would be much appreciated.
I must replace the BCM ( High 312 ) in my WH11 LS1 Statesman.
I have found a Calais BCM (Lux 314). Can I use this as a replacement?;
or, is a "High 312" my only option?
Thanks for your time and altruistic attitude to these forums ;)
cheers,
Craig.

no you need the same level, why are you replacing it?
