2003 VY S II
hey guys and girls, about a month ago i installed a half decent audio set up in my VY S II and since then i have noticed my distance travelled per tank has dropped a fair bit.
i always fill up with 95 fuel, i used to get anywhere between 450-560ks per tank before i would fill up depending on how "interesting" i made my driving haha.

after the sound went in im only getting low 400's - 460ks per tank which is really sad for me :( so if anyone can help out why that would be great :)

cheers guys and girls of just comm!

i have no idea lols, maybe the alternator is more stressed to power the audio, which uses more fuel, like using more acceleration to charge quicker, idk its only my guess im probably wrong haha, good thread thou, i think there was a thread while back on this topic

a half decent audio set up

What is in a half decent audio setup? I'd say its a coincidence. The only real thing could be a little more fuel consumption due to more strain on the alternator, but that should only be if you are running something to massively drain current (300amp plus draw) which is highly unlikely. Or the extra weight which again, would be fairly unnoticeable unless you have a few hundred kg of stereo in there, which again is unlikely. What components are you running? May as well ask.

Your alternator doesn't have a clutch so is active all the time so I fail to see how it can be the cause. What it most probably will be is you not keeping an eye on revs etc while your driving.

How much does this set up weigh? Adding even 100kg would throw out your consumption a little.

Hahha this is such a funny thread!

How much does it weigh? That could be a issue
Maybe also with your blasting sound you are now driving with your window down making sure everyone can hear an this is creating wind drag?
Goodluck! This seems crazy

Fully sick subwoofa = tough as driver = lead foot = more consumption? Ayyyyeee.
In all seriousness, have your driving methods changed since installing the system?
