VE Commodore International MY2010
I have a VE international 2010. I recently replaced the front face and kep the original head unit. I can’t find a way to pass the vehicle mismatch. Is there anyway I can override this?

more is the only option to have the old unit and new facesent to an audio specialist for recoding?

The facia can be disassembled and you can swap the board over to the new facia.

I did a disassembly thread on a series 2 facia. Similar process with series 1.

You know I tried this and I think I might’ve fudged something up along the way.

I’m considering replacing all with a new head unit with iPhone connectivity and touchscreen display.

many chance you know any particular options that fit the VE well and are dummy proof for installation?

You can’t mess up the facia. You put the mother board from the original in the new facia. You have new dials, buttons, screen, but the workings are still matched.

Otherwise a Tech2 device can VIN match the replacement.

A smart move to go aftermarket. You’ll bring far more to the car than anything else by including phone connectivity.

You need to retro fit a series one arrangement. Top vents, the top panel, the dash spears and the centre trim panel. Then you can get the Aerpro hvac facia adaptor and the headunit of your choice. Harness adaptors make it all plug and play.
Make sure you get either dual zone or single zone climate control to suit your model.
autoinstruct.com have a “how to” to convert series 1 to series 2, so it’s a reverse of that to retro fit. Series 2 is now the clunky outdated and almost non upgradable entrainment system. Series 1 is now blessed.

Wow, that’s a very thorough response mate thanks. I’m located in Melbourne. Do you know any companies that do this type of work at a reasonable price?

You will only find someone to reflash the facia. Go to Holden. Or ring around to find a garage with the software to do it.
