I used medium strength thread locker on them, the next one up was permanent, should I of uses that instead?, I think I have some around here somewhere anyway I know they were an absolute b**** to get to. Grazed knuckles it is now though lol
See how it goes, I used the blue stuff and it come loose in hours. Put the red loctite on and I couldn't get the nuts undone when we dropped the gearbox out last time... So yeah maybe medium lol.
In which case you didn't put the boot(s) & sound deadener back properly. Good news that it makes such a difference though.
Even if you've put everything back on properly the rip shifters are slightly louder compared to the factory shifter design, hardly notice it though.
Its not much louder just enough for me to realise. Don't think anyone else who gets in would be able to tell Now its time for an otr and tune I think Hopefully when my holiday is over and I go back to work they have my tow bar cap in stock so I can finally remove the damn thing
Don't know if I could trust my car to be tuned by some dude with a Pro Dyne (never heard of them) under his carport.
By all means, go somewhere closer to melbourne with a shiny shed and pay more for the same work. Which dyno he has is irrelevant, he does the tuning on the road and dyno for power read outs. He's based in Trawalla so it's a bit of a drive, but for a basic n/a tune with an otr it's really not worth the money some people charge. Just because he doesn't charge like a wounded bull doesn't mean he's dodgy.
Wanted to clean the leather up a bit and give it some care so following reapers suggestion i purchased the AutoGlym leather cleaner and care balm Added to the collection of autoglym anyway. Leather Came up pretty good, not that it was bad to begin with.
Leather’s looking nice mate! I’ve been thinking about a ripshifter, but I generally don’t have any problems shifting from 2nd to 3rd, but reverse is a bit hard, can never get from 1st then straight into reverse, it just doesn’t go in! Have to pull it down to 4th then it slips into reverse, weird. Does the ripshifter improve reverse? Also is the height of your gear stick a little shorter too now?
Thanks mate. Ripshifter might help in your case but it could also be an internal problem you're having. The stick stays at the same height if you want it to sit lower you need to buy either a short shifter (HSV shifter) or get the race version of the ripshifter. Most people just recommend getting the street shifter though to help with noise.
There's a couple of guys with a factory unit and a dyno / tune facilities on Fuller Rd in Caroline Springs
