what would people choose from experience is auto more reliable and cheaper as you don’t have to replace clutch or is manual better for driving towing

After driving an auto VS 5 litre for 19 years (and coming from a manual 5 litre VK before that), being in a manual VE SSV is much more engaging (and fun) than auto.

2007 ssv manual
The 4l60e autos are a craptastic box that need to be rebuilt at 150 - 200ks depending on service history and treatment me personally I’d go for a manual that’s had a clutch replacement, if it hasn’t been done it’s still cheaper than an auto rebuild anyway and as above they are more fun and engaging to drive and slightly better on fuel too

Love the manual in by but that's with a ripshifter fitted, pretty average shift feel stock. My sv8 was cammed and std clutch held up fine.
