just running ideas:idea: through my head and was wondering how much roughly i would be looking at to have the series 2 vt ss converted to a manual, and whether or not it would be worth it in the long run

this wont be happening for a while yet as the girlfriend is using this as her daily driver until we have the money to buy her something else and take either the ss or the landcruiser off the road for some serious upgrading

Try doing a search because this is probably one of the most asked questions.

It can be done but to be honest with you, it would be cheaper and easier to sell your current car and buy one that is already a manual.
Quick run down on parts
1. Pedal box or just the clutch pedal
2. Clutch master cylinder
3. Gearbox
4. gearbox cross member
5. Tail shaft
6. console insert
7. Clutch slave cylinder
8. Floor\tunnel plate
9. Clutch and flywheel.
10. Wiring modification for the gearbox
11. new memcal or reflash of yours for the manual gearbox.
I think from memory that's about it.

your kidding, whats the point of doing it for the p's then??
whats to stop an l plater rocking up at the lights in say an ss or fpv (parents car) and accepting a drag race when the guy next to him starts revving the engine??
kinda stupid as far as i can see

nah he's from perth.. (no restrictions in SA & WA) so he will be fine to drive the ss... and in no state is there restrictions on your l's... because you can only drive when supervised anyway... and you need to log 100 hours parents might only have 8's/turbos/chargers/exceed 200kw

just a little insight
