From 4L60e common problems:

28.
All fluid pumped out through the vent tube: Plugged cooler line. Flush the transmission cooler and cooler lines. Also could be overfilled transmission.

Hello,
My trans fluid is over the hot mark on dipstick (when cars cold)
Then after I go for a 40 min drive it's under the cold mark,(wayyy under hot mark)
Would anyone know why's it's doing that?An what I can do,
I've put 1.5lrs of fluid in since i noticed it was low(checked hot)

I check it after a good drive,I leave the engine idling, car in park,
I've also went down an up the gears (5secs in each)
It still runs under the cold mark on dipstick,
Trans seems to be running fine,an no fault codes coming up

Was the engine off on the initial check? This is normal. With the engine off the fluid will settle down into the pan, when you fire up the motor the fluid goes where it needs to be and the level will settle. It probably needs more fluid but if it is that low I'd be looking for a leak.

Hi,
The initial check was with car running, after maybe 1 hours drive,,
I put over a litre in,then the next day I checked it cold an the fluid was over the hot mark, then I went for a drive an checked it,then it was under the cold mark,
I check it with car running,I've only checked afew times while the car was off/cold,
I can't see any leaks anywhere,,
It's super annoying lol,,

Level ground? Foaming?

Level ground yes,
No foaming,
When car is hot/engine running, the level on dipstick is under the cold mark,
When the car is cold/car off,
the level on dipstick is over the hot mark,
Way up,
I don't know why it's like that,

Shouldn't the fluid level be in the cold mark when the car is cold,
And in the hot mark when car is hot lol,

Mines over the hot mark when it's cold, and under the cold
When its hot,
I've put 1.5ltrs in since I noticed it,

When the engine is off the fluid level will rise as the fluid settles down out of the transmission into the pan. This is normal so if you check the fluid level before you start the car in the morning it will be way up the dipstick. One the engine starts the pump will push a fair amount of the fluid into the various transmission parts and then the level will settle much the same as the engine.

The Cold and Hot markings on the dipstick are to be used with the engine running, obviously as the fluid heats it expands a little and hence the reason the hot mark is above the cold mark.

Righto I get ya,
So what I should do is get it hot again, and just keep putting in fluid untill it comes up to the hot mark?

Yes. The correct fluid level with the trans at the correct working temp is the most critical one to get right.
