    Hi all

Got a VY V6 auto with 240km. I had changed the tranny oil about 20,000km ago and was still pretty fresh. I changed oil and filter yesterday, took it around block and all good.

I went back home, I'd heard by disconnecting battery for 10min it can reset computer from shift patterns.

Now I did this, whilst the shifts are fine, it seems to shift quite high in the rev range.. Don't know why, but is this normal? How do you fix this so it upshifts lower in rev range?

Don't suspose you hit the "power shift" button? That'll increase the rev range.

This is the part I don't get. It says on dipstick to check fluid with engine idling. Now when you check it at engine idle, it shows as real low on dipstick. But when the engine is off, it shows between the two dots. What the?

I'm just at a loss as to how this all happened by disconnecting battery.

It needs to be idling in park and needs to be hot. Sounds too low

I did that. But when it's on, dipstick is very low, but when off it's at normal. Do you strictly go off checking when engine is on?

So checked in idle and it's sitting at mid way mark. shifts better after more fluid. But with engine off, it's sitting at a Tad after the two dots. just concerned I'll put too much fluid in.

The reading when its not running doesn't mean anything. Try and get it right on the full mark when idling in park.
