Ok guys, i just had to replace my harmonic balancer on my vy (v6) due to the front CAS seal pissing out oil. Anyway in the proccess of getting the original harmonic balancer off it got a bit messed up. So I called the auto wrecker and he had one waiting for me got someone to travel an hour to go get it. To put it on a find the bolt hole on it is different (smaller) so I'm guessing it's a vx. Anyway the auto wrecker is claiming their all the same anyway well obviously not. So now here is the question I can't just get a new bolt I'll have to get ANOTHER harmonic balancer right?
Pretty pissed off atm as my hubby can't get to work without my car.

Check eBay or other sites like supercheap to see if they should be the same.
Are you saying the big bolt won't fit through the hole in the middle ? I wouldn't expect that. Any photos?

Can you pull the new balancer off again easily? I'd pull it off and compare the new one and old one.
Or take a photo of the hole, is there a washer stuck in it or something...

Already compared there is nothing in it the hole is just smaller. But there is a lip on the new one and not on the old which makes the hole smaller

Difficult to assess without seeing just how identical the balancers are.
Assuming they are identical apart from the lip; I'd probably look for a lathe, mill, or (last resort) drill press and machine that lip out (without touching the rest of the hole that contacts the shaft).

Or a local fabricating/engineering outfit that would do it for me.

*Edit*
Just thought, I'm also assuming the bolt is from the original balancer and has been screwed into the shaft before?
