hmm very interesting question...

when you activate the auto down, do you hear a click in the switch when it reaches the bottom, the window regulator or the BCM?

2010 camaro window schematics show they are not linked to the BCM, so i doubt the ol' commo would be, since GM generally dont have much imagination. the device ID is stored on a circuit board inside the regulator, which you can easy mess with, but im thinking the switch assembly is the part that drives the auto function.

ebay results just show a spate of the same window switches for calais and omega, no mention of auto control or not.

id be keen to see an answer to this question too.

edit* i lied, it goes through the BCM. fail.

Adding directed electronics window roll up module will add auto up and auto down to both front windows. It can also add auto close on lock and down on a programmable alarm.

Sheesh, that module is $139.99 from Amazon!
Where do you plug it in anyway ? Maybe they will become more available when series 2's start appearing at the wreckers...

It can be found cheaper. I have several that I'm sure I paid less for.

It doesn't "plug" in as it's a universal design. It's designed to be wired in at the main switch in the centre console. If someone got one I'd happily share a wiring diagram. If you can solder (or crimp I suppose) and aren't afraid of a little DIY then it's a great project as it doesn't involve running wires anywhere as it's all located right at the switch.
