Name: Marc
Model: 1974 HQ ute
Colour: Black
Bodykit: GTS style Guards
Engine Type: Holden 308
Engine Mods: Suppose to have a small cam, holley carb, belt drive.
Exhaust: 4 into 1 Genie extractors, exhaust needs to be re done.
Gearbox: Auto not sure if th350 or th400, need to have a look.
Diff: Salisbury diff, unsure of gears.
Brakes: Standard
Suspension: Standard
Wheels/Tyres: Cheviot Armorlite
Interior: Pretty much standard
Other Mods: Premier front end with GTS grille.
Stereo: No stereo yet

Bought this unlicensed and needs a bit of work done like exhaust redone, needs seatbelts, tail lights are faded so will need new ones.
Body is in primer but i can see it needs a few rust repairs on the front cowl and a couple spots on the passenger side.
The plan is to get it registered then just enjoy driving it for a while, then will strip it all down to fix the rust areas, get the body all straight and basically just get it all looking and running nice.
I would like to keep it mostly original with nothing too over the top, i do like the wheels that are on it but the front passenger side tyre has rubbed on the guard so i might need to change them to a smaller rim or tyre as they are currently 235 wide.

Here are some pics.

Bit of an update, found the chassis was bent at the front so found another ute and have started swapping the chassis over.
Will be using new body mount rubbers and replacing front suspension bushes, ball joints and tie rod ends.
Doing the swap where i work so lifting the bodys with a couple forklifts has made it so much easier.

Might aswell throw some more pics up if anyone cares lol.
Changed carbie from a 600 double pumper to 600 with vac secondaries.
Rewired most of the engine bay wiring hiding as much as i could and wired the headlights through relays and circuit breakers, using 150w highbeam lights so didnt want to burn out the original wiring and switches.
Also got rid of the original gauges and wired in some autometer goodness lol electric speedo works 100 times better than the old cable speedo.
Also swapped the woodgrain steering wheel for a cheap black one, Hoping to get it registered soon.

Love what you've done with the gauges there.

yep would love to keep it but trying to save for a house, had big plans like LS conversion and paint job ect. Would just turn into a money pit, plus paying 3 regos at the moment with my commodore and a motorbike lol.
