back door will not open

Hi all
I have a 89 vn and the back door will not open unless i push on the door at the same time as pulling open the door handle........ or only if i pull the door handle open only fron the extrem left side of the handle
can anyone help me please

sounds like the door might be out of alignment....or else , you might have to pull the door apart from the inside....not hard...there is threads about doing it.....

I'm not sure about the VNs, haven't not being in the back of one for a while, but doesn't the door have to be open for you to pull the door trim off?
