Just use four small bits of masking tape or painter's tape for locating.

Badge removal is easy - just use fishing line and Prepsol. (Search for a thread called "How to Debadge your Car in 10 Minutes")

As for putting it back on... I don't think double-sided tape is strong enough, or small enough to get behind all the little intricate bits without looking like ****.

Personally I'd just buy a new one from Holden - they're not too expensive and they have the adhesive already on the back. Then paint it and stick it on! :)

On past cars I just used to use a heat gun or dryer to melt the glue behind the badge and just use fishing line in a sawing motion the remove the badge. Use goo remover to clean excess gunk. As for re attaching, I've never done as I removed mine but never put back on. Don't know what ve ones are like pin wise either as I havnt removed mine.

No locating holes in VE wagons (only early VE sedans, '06 and some '07 models)

and what should i stick it back on with?
This stuff has worked a treat on my VE wagon, the badge has been on for about 3 years now: 3m automotive double sided tape | eBay

or do i even have to pull it off to dip it?
Yep, easily done, here's some Youtube How To's : https://www.google.com.au/search?ne...sedr...0...1c.1.59.serp..6.5.1316.c9bJKnSNi_Y
