    Hey guys,

    Am in the process of sanding back the tray of a VR Ute to get it ready for paint.

    I was wondering if anyone here has sanded back to bare metal and then polished / shined the metal and left it at that with maybe a clear coat on top.

    How would it look and has anyone seen it done before? It is a dark ute and am unsure how a shiny metal tray would look. Would a clear coat on top prevent corrosion and rust?

    May be a crazy idea but it is kind of unique. Let me know if it is a stupid idea as unique isn't always good!

    Cheers guys:flame::hiding:

    Goes with your username lol
    Yes, has been done and cars with this finish seem to pop up from time to time.
    Does it have any pitting from rust? Might not lend itself too well if there are defects in the finish.
    But yes, depending on how you want it to look, you can scotch brite it back or hit it with a flap wheel, would pay to get a small piece of scrap and try a few different finishes.
