my holden calais 97 vt i just got .and told check gearbox cause car fluid overfill and now car wont accelerate just revs moves slow

Auto? Could be TPS. Can you manually shift from 1st - 3rd and it go ok?

yes all work still drives but just no get up go action old owner told me he overfilled trans and then heard something in box then no power

i changed engine control 1.7 amp fuse. and some better power .but fluids very overfull just need to somehow off load some .then maybe car go well

You could try and disconnect a trans cooler line. Using a friend undo the top line and run it into a bottle. Have someone start the engine and let a litre pump out. Shut off soon as the 1L has been pumped out. Pop the line back on and see how that goes.
