Hey guys, I've currently lost my keys for my VX calais, i'm wondering if anyone knows a easy way to remove the barrel for a replacement barrel I've bought. I still have a old fob so i just need help changing barrels over. I've contacted a locksmith to see what they charge but if there's a easier non costly way to do this I'd rather do that.
You can pm me if it's a big no no to give this kind of information out.

You need the key in the on position to remove the barrel cheaply. Without the key a locksmith might be your only option.

If its like a VR you can unbolt the whole unit from the column and replace the lot. You would need a key that fits the barrel though.

That would be the easiest option. Only thing is that if you want the code and if same rules apply in Vic as they do in Tas then it will cost you $130 to get the key code. I wanted a replacement key for my worn one and was quoted $130 for the blank and code, which is sent directly to the locksmith.
