battery light on and off after service

Hey guys,
Just did a major service on the commodore (engine wise), and since it has been running the battery light stays illuminated. The battery was at 12.4v before start and once started it goes up to between 13.8 to 14.2. I took the car out for a drive and when I really get on power the battery light will turn off and then back on intermittently.
The alternator has a good ground.. and ive removed it 3 times and reconnected it to ensure the plug and power wire have a solid connection. The serp belt has juat been changed so it isnt slipping.
not sure why the light is staying on!! Any ideas?

can still be a faulty regulator
I mean ...they sure do get hot
its brushes are wearing down
are dirty at the contacts inside the alternator
insulation of the regulator is breaking down when hot ..


bosch $50 might solve the problem
